The F&B industry in Hong Kong is slowly but surely regaining steam, with two exciting pop-ups this month bringing life to the industry.

First up, we have Little Bao’s Long Weekends pop-up at May Chow’s newly reopened (and now private events space) Happy Paradise. Little Bao in SoHo may have closed last summer, but we can now get a taste of LB’s signature dishes (like XL char siu rice with Ibérico roast pork and Tomahawk steak rice noodles with seaweed butter and preserved lemon) alongside some exclusive off-menu neo-Chinese specials.

Little Bao’s weekly pop-up runs every Thursday through Sunday (dinner from 6pm; lunch from 12pm on Saturday and Sunday). Advance booking is required.

From bao to burgers, Brando’s Burger Joint is currently taking over Mama Malouf in Kennedy Town on Wednesdays from 1pm till late. Brando’s, launched by Brandon Tomkinson, the former head chef at Gordon Ramsay’s recently shuttered Bread Street Kitchen at The Peak, will be travelling around town in the coming
weeks, so stay tuned for its next home.

Brando’s short-but-sweet burger menu spans from the Classic Brando, a tower of 150g beef patty, house relish, Cheddar, lettuce and tomato, to the So Spicy La!, made up of the same beef patty, chorizo and chilli jam, Cheddar, sriracha mayo, pickled red onion and lettuce and tomato. There are veggie and chicken burgers too. Takeaway is available if you’re unable to snag a seat in-house.
