With the arrival of the Year of the Pig, Chinese cuisine specialist One Harbour Road at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong has fittingly launched a new vegetarian-friendly menu that prominently features Omnipork, a plant-based pork product created by food-tech company Right Treat. Combining this versatile and future-forward ingredient with the expert preparation methods of Chinese delicacies posed a unique challenge for Chef de Cuisine Chan Hon Cheong, who used the opportunity to create appetisers such as deep-fried Omnipork and lotus root cake, soupy xiao long bao with Omnipork and vegetable filling and a piping-hot stone bowl fried beetroot rice with water chestnut and mushroom, topped with a roasted Omnipork patty.

One Harbour Road’s vegetarian set menu ($568) is available from now until 28 February 2019, though fan favourites like the braised bean curd pocket will remain on the à-la-carte menu. There are just a few days left to get a taste of those deep-fried Omnipork and lotus root cakes!
