Founded by affable foodie Alvin Cailan in 2011, Eggslut began as a food truck on Los Angeles’ streets, today continuing with this opening in Causeway Bay to feed hungry bellies with toasty sandwiches packed with egg. At Check in Taipei, Taiwanese food is given a much needed infusion of colour and modern touch to reinvigorate the carby and gloopy cuisine. Chef Simon Rogan’s outpost in Hong Kong has enjoyed critical success for five years operating in Causeway Bay. The organic-powerful and vegetable-forward fine-dining restaurant is loved by the MICHELIN Guide, earning one star and a Green Star in the 2024 awards. Tucked away down a flight of stairs is Kampoeng, specialising in the rich and spicy flavours of Indonesia. The largest of the eateries housed in Causeway Bay’s Little Indonesia, Kampoeng is as authentic as it gets. The Grill Room

The Grill Room opened up its Causeway Bay location in August 2023 after eight five years of success in Tsim Sha Tsui cooking steak with French and Australian influences. Open-fire and Josper grills cook the meat to perfection at the exclusive steakhouse. Order the hamachi crudo (HKD158) and foie gras terrine (HKD148) to start off, before diving deep into the beef tenderloin (HKD308) or M7 Wagyu sirloin (HKD528). Sunning Restaurant

Founded in 1948, Sunning Restaurant is one of Hong Kong’s oldest restaurants still standing, serving an endearing fine-dining “soya sauce Western” menu that fuses Chinese ingredients with French, American, and British recipes. The real Hong Kong deal comes with the Escargot Set (HKD270), complete with escargot, borscht or cream of mushroom soup, a choice of sirloin steak, sole meunière, fried pork chop, or chicken mancini, and coffee or tea.

Notable for its cult following, Mother of Pizzas is a bonafide Causeway Bay restaurant. The owner cooks Neapolitan pizza in a wood oven with San Marzano tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, but with some twists. The Crazy Cheese (HKD238, 13inch) goes nuts with five types of cheese on the pie, whilst the Pepperoni Super Saiyan (HKD238, 13 inch) amps up the salt with tons of pepperoni slices, plus a lot of garlic. Nikusa all-you-can-eat Japanese shabu shabu restaurant strikes on quality and affordability with five priced dining packages, based on meat quality and time allotment for the buffet. This name of this newly reopened Causeway Bay restaurant (relocating from its former Sai Ying Pun home) means “house” in both Spanish and Italian, alluding to the comforting and colourful creations offered at the vibrant space.
